Death House Trailer Released

If you were ever looking for a film that teams up a handful of icons of horror, then Death House is only kind of your thing.

Death House gathers a small amount of recognizable horror actors together in what seems to be a vulgar and gruesome rat race. A secret prison, known as the Death House, goes into lockdown. A group of agents has to escape the prison while being hunted by the violent inmates within. Their only option for survival is to descend deeper into the depths of the prison.

While the film has been advertised as similar to The Expendables, it’s definitely missing a few heavy hitters. Among the marquee names are Kane Hodder, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Michael Berryman, and Tony Todd. Meanwhile, names like Doug Bradley and Robert Englund are nowhere in sight. The idea behind Death House is intriguing but without some of the bigger names of the horror genre, and slasher sub-genre in particular, the premise seems to be lacking. In fact, all of the aforementioned actors, other than Tony Todd, have actually worked together before in Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects. Although, Hodder was a stunt coordinator on that film and not an actor.

Still, it’s no secret that fans will take what they’re given. It’s still unique to see so many names in one film together. In addition, there are many lesser known horror actors included in the film alongside the big names. Even Gunnar Hansen, the original Leatherface himself, is credited with being the original screenwriter.

Death House is set for release sometime in 2017. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the film was a direct-to-DVD release given the B-movie feel of the trailer. Check out the trailer and comment below.
